After work after the gym, I thought about visiting Family Dollar across the parking lot to buy a frozen pizza. Even though it would cost only $4 and I would likely get two meals out of it, I talked myself out of it with the idea of having a day of spending no money. At home, a freezer excavation yielded a long-forgotten, semi freezer burned veggie burger. It was really dry and crunchy, but with mayo and Sriracha on the bread and some melty cheese, it was almost palatable. Almost.

Arriving soon. |
After analyzing the merits of rod pocket versus grommets, the rod pocket drapes
were moved to the growing “saved for later” list. The same for two of the
blouses. “Buy Now” was pushed and the other drapes and one blouse were ordered.
Then, a pair of gray boots was sought. And ordered.
It is not lost on me that I chose to not spend $4 to have a
slightly more edible supper because I wanted to have a day of not spending
money, then an hour later spent a bunch of money shopping on Amazon. But,
but …. The drapes are gong to look so good. And there was a credit in my
account from the three blouses returned on Friday. And, and … Yeah, so much for the no-spend day.

Also arriving soon. |
The shoes and pants ordered from Kohl’s last week arrived. The shoes don’t fit and the fabric on the pants is horrible. Once those are returned, it’s basically a financial wash for the new blouse and boots, and technically, those are last week’s expenditures.
There is no flimsy financial fabrication to
justify the drapes, but I’ve been thinking about them for a week if that
matters. And the way things are going, all of it may need to be returned anyway.
Maybe, in the end, I didn’t really spend anything.
